Our PhD programs are focused on modern research.

PhD programs at the Institute of Medical Education is an integrated education based on the disciplines from related fields and conducted under the guidance of highly qualified scholars – corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professors, doctors of science, with access to extensive facilities, unique laboratories and high quality information resources. The Institute of Medical Education offers 17 PhD programs in 3 areas of research:

1.5 Life Sciences

3.1 Clinical Medicine

3.3 Biomedical Science

Today, Almazov Centre has more than 130 PhD students from 27 Russian regions and 5 countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cameroon, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan).

Our PhD students are:

recipients of Presidential and Government scholarships,

authors of publications in top-tier journals (including those indexed in international citation databases),

winners of best research projects,

participants of international conferences and symposia,

researchers on a wide variety of grants and research projects in the priority areas for the development of medicine and biomedical technologies.

There is a combined procedure for passing the State Final Assessment and pre-defense of PhD thesis. In future, we plan to implement integrated research and educational projects (biomedical, socio-medical) as well as translational research from bench to bed.
