06.04.01 Biology / Cell and Molecular Biology

The Institute of Medical Education of Almazov Centre offers bachelor’s or specialist’s graduates the opportunity to earn a master’s degree in Biology.

The Master of Science in Biology program with specialization in Cell and Molecular Biology provides:

  • development of scientific knowledge for basic and applied research in cell and molecular biology,

  • in-depth understanding of molecular imaging, pharmaco-imaging, fundamentals of cell and molecular biology, a wide range of modern high-tech research methods in the field of cell and molecular biology,

  • training of highly qualified specialists equipped with knowledge and skills necessary to make effective decisions in the field of biological research,

  • training of professionals capable of conducting high-tech laboratory research in clinical, diagnostic and genetic laboratories,

  • development of skills for innovation in basic and applied research in the field of cell and molecular biology.

They will be able to stay and work at Almazov Centre to develop and implement diagnostic and treatment technologies based on personalized medicine, including genetic risk assessment, methods of pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics, biological modelling of diseases, genome modification and the creation of gene therapy drugs and biomedical cell products with the use of genome editing technologies to improve the quality of treatment and reduce mortality in various cardiovascular diseases, metabolic comorbidities, hematological malignancies and certain types of solid tumors, some infectious diseases, as well as in genetic diseases, including rare and understudied ones.

06.04.01 Biology / Medical Laboratory Science

The Institute of Medical Education of Almazov Centre offers bachelor’s or specialist’s graduates the opportunity to earn a master’s degree in Biology.

The Master of Science in Biology program with specialization in Medical Laboratory Science provides:

  • in-depth study of diagnostic laboratory science, genetics, new biomedical technologies, fundamentals of immunohematological tests, laboratory organization and management,

  • development of professional competencies for addressing laboratory medicine needs,

  • performance of laboratory procedures in chemical microscopy, hematology, cytology, biochemistry, coagulation, immunology, immunohematology, chemical toxicology, molecular biology, genetics and microbiology using in vitro diagnostic products,

  • analysis of the results, preparation of a lab report and quality control,

  • understanding of modern laboratory information systems, automation principles, regulatory framework and organization of laboratory services,

  • possibility of advanced training in diagnostic laboratory procedures during studies, allowing for the opportunity to work as a biologist in clinical diagnostic and microbiological laboratories immediately after graduating from the master's degree.

04.04.01 Chemistry / Radiochemistry

The Institute of Medical Education of Almazov Centre offers bachelor’s or specialist’s graduates the opportunity to earn a master’s degree in Chemistry.

The Master of Science in Chemistry program with specialization in Radiochemistry provides:

  • training of highly qualified specialists equipped with knowledge and skills necessary to make and implement effective decisions in the field of organization of chemical research, production process and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals, documentation system as a vital part of the pharmaceutical quality system,

  • combination of practical training with comprehensive fundamental knowledge for developing the synthesis of new compounds and quickly mastering the processes of known radiopharmaceuticals,

  • development of skills for innovation in basic and applied research in the field of radiochemical production and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals.
